Need we remind the governing majority that unions were born in Wisconsin? This state’s political history is written with progressivism, from “Fighting Bob” La Follette to Gaylord Nelson to Russ Feingold. Wisconsin’s voters have historically believed in their government’s ability to effect powerful, positive change for the state’s populous. They don’t tend to see government with apathy, or as a burden that should be squeezed of resources.
No one should be surprised that the senate majority had to pass this bill while their voting public slept. If history informs, they will awaken.
