I swim a lot lately, and when I swim I think about what the best way would be to describe it to someone else. It’s actually very noisy under the water, what with your breathing and all. There are lots of old people doing water aerobics in special foam girdles, but all you can see are their legs slowly bouncing up and down. Swimming is a like a boxing match with the water. That’s something I say a lot to myself. I can make it across the pool now in four breaths, maybe three if I’m lucky. That’s not the English Channel. Anyway, this photo explains swimming in a way I never can. Photo from Dan Schmahl, from FF’s Photo of the Day.
